Dry needling

Dry needling is an adjunct therapy used by our podiatrists in the management of several conditions such as Achilles teninosis, plantar fasciopathy, nerve irritation and shin splints.

Dry needling requires the use of solid and dry needles to target muscular trigger points. Trigger points often occur as a result of repetitive stress/load on the involved tissue; this can be a consequence of numerous underlying factors e.g. biomechanical stress, postural stress or joint dysfunction.

Recent research has shown that the use of dry needling and trigger point therapy can increase flexibility, reduce pain levels and improve function of the involved tissue.

The use of dry needling and trigger point therapy provides you with a faster return to normal activity and allows our podiatrists to provide you with an immediate treatment option.
